An update on Ron's condition & more photos

So it's pretty obvious Ron crashed real hard, but here's the details. He was ridding in the back of a high speed pace line on a narrow two-way protected bike lane. The group slowed down suddenly, when it encountered some walkers and a biker going in the other direction. Unfortunately for Ron he was ridding in the drops and pedaling hard to close the gap, no one called out the walkers or the slowdown and Ron didn't realize until it was too late. He swerved to avoid the pack, putting him into the path of another on coming biker, he then swerved harder pointing him straight into the protective barrier. He hit the barrier face first and broke the bones all around he nose and cheek bones. At the same time that he hit the barrier the oncoming biker plowed into his side. It is unclear which impact was the cause of the frames failure, my guess is it was a combination of both. Ron has had to have some reconstructive facial surgery and suffered some pretty serious road rash. He is recovering but will be off the bike for the next couple months.
